Class Description
These dynamic classes smoothly transition back and forth between some of the best classically practiced Baguazhang and Taichichuan forms found in some of the more traditional schools, alongside core healing Qigong methods that are shared by both arts...

Joseph has carefully chosen internal arts practices that Beginners and Experienced participants alike will be able to better balance, strengthen and restore their CHI (life-force) and open their whole body naturally and appropriately, according to the level of each individual; helping the over-all group to better synchronize with each other in preparation for dynamic partner training...

Next, towards the last phase of the class, students are then paired off with each other to interact, so that they can in a more kinesthetic (physical sensing/non-intellectual/intuitive) way, further experience the energy principles and hidden self-defense fighting applications contained within the previously practiced solo forms and postures.

Sunday mornings at Peridance is one of the best values, students can come as early as 9:15am to practice and warm-up on their own inside the beautiful and spacious Studio 2; the laid-back energy on Sundays also allows for more time to interact with Joseph and his students before and after class...

RECOMMENDATIONS:

Clothing
If possible, please wear loose fitting sweat pants and long sleeve shirts made of natural materials, such 100% organic cotton, raw silk, linen or other natural fibers. This will allow the body greater freedom of movement, comfort and breathability.

Footwear
Please, no street shoes allowed.
It's highly recommended to simply go bare foot, but flat soled training shoes are perfectly fine, such as: cotton soled taichi shoes, kung-fu shoes, soft leather, canvas or cotton sneakers with a very thin rubber sole, socks or socks with thin rubber grippers. But, NOT RECOMMENDED to use are Jogging shoes and regular sneakers. These are not good because they have too much cushioning and elevation, preventing your Achilles tendons and feet from being more fully exercised and opened.
